Gatorade Grand Prix first race of the series

About 1000 participants lined-up for the first race of the Gatorade Grand Prix 2012 organized by BMA on Sunday April 22nd, 2012; a 6K in the city of Saida.

For now i'll skip the critical objective analysis of the various aspects of the race and i'll stick to Inter's runners' performance at this race. Pia Nehme paced by the ever improving Elias Abi Rachid finished first woman overall with a good time of 22m38s (unofficial), few seconds after Elias (16y) who seems determined to lift his game to a superior level. Marie el Amm the ever lasting runner ran at 47 years old her fastest race so far with an amazing time of 23m40s (unofficial) at a pace of less than 3.57/k. She arrived second after Pia. Joyce Nassar finished third with a vengeance over her disappointing performance at Al Bayroutya. Joyce clocked a sub 25 minutes which is excellent for this distance. The 3 first girls were ours in Saida.

Maria Pia Nehme wins her 2nd Al Bayroutya title

It is in a summer like weather contrasting with the rather unusual winter weather we have all suffered from this year that Inter Lebanon has organized it's 5th édition of Al Bayroutya race on April 8, 2012; an exclusive women's 5K road race. About 100 runners, including some of the best nationally, lined-up at the start line at Riad el Solh square down town Beirut for this particularly glamour race and finished at Zeytuna bay.
